FIRST GUEST: Norman B. Anderson, PhD, CEO and Executive Vice President of the American Psychological Association

Young or old, rich or poor, no single group of Americans is immune to stress. So what’s at the source? According to the American Psychological Association: money.

Since 2007, they’ve found financial issues top the list of key sources of stress for Americans through their annual Stress in America survey.

It’s impossible to eliminate that particular source of stress for most people, but it’s not impossible to lower one’s level of stress. Anderson tells us that those with emotional support from friends or family experience lower levels of stress than those without emotional support.

He also encourages families to talk about financial goals to eliminate the stigma associated with money. This will also help teach young kids the value of money.

Learn more about the survey at stressinamerica.org.

SECOND GUEST: George L. King, M.D., author of The Diabetes Reset: Avoid It. Control It. Even Reverse It.

About 26 million Americans have Diabetes. Dr. King explains the differences between Type 1 and Type 2, and also goes over some of the strategies that can help you keep your Diabetes under control, including:

-Cutting your fat intake and increasing your fiber intake

-Reducing your body weight by as little as 5%

-Doing more aerobic exercise and strength training

-Getting 8 hours of sleep every night

-Improving your mental health by reducing stress

The Diabetes Reset is available on Amazon and at other major booksellers.

THIRD GUEST: Amy Paulishak, Senior Vice President of Brides Against Breast Cancer

Brides Against Breast Cancer contributes to programs for cancer patients and their families. They’re bringing their nationwide tour of gowns to The Haight in Elgin on February 27th and 28th, and to the Wyndham in River North on March 6th and 7th.

Amy tells us about the organization, and what brides-to-be can expect at these bridal shows.
